The pre-milk substance produced by most
mammalian mothers immediately after birth of the baby is known as colostrum and
is also called first milk.
Bovine colostrum is not only an immunity
enhancing substance. It contains about ninety useful components for good
health, of which immune factors and growth factors are the two primary
components. The immune factors present in colostrum are immunoglobulins,
specific antibodies, lactoferrin, proline rich polypeptides (PRP), cytokines,
